Situation
The web platform of the largest cinema chain in Latin America was being redesigned and migrated across LATAM, with every market carrying its own payment methods and its own release schedule.
Task
Lead the payments team, and help move the platform onto an architecture that several teams could ship into at once.
Action
- Led the payments team
- Integrated 5+ payment gateways across LATAM markets, including Spreedly, PayPal, Kueski, and Click to Pay
- Built Python backend services in a microservices architecture on AWS
- Built and shipped microfrontends with Next.js and Module Federation
- Developed a shared component library used across the platform
- Worked alongside the design, backend and product teams
- Mentored engineers across multicultural teams
Result
- Payments shipped across multiple countries, each with its local methods
- A component library that kept the interface consistent as separate teams built into it
