Case Study — 07
BookSwipe

Situation
Second-hand books sit on shelves long after they are finished. The people who want them are nearby, but there is nothing that connects the two beyond selling to a stranger online.
Task
Design an app where readers list the books they own, match with someone who wants them, and arrange the exchange — again through the full design thinking process.
Action
- Ran user interviews with readers to understand how they part with books
- Defined the problem and mapped the exchange flow end to end
- Designed the listing, matching and coordination experience
- Built wireframes and interactive prototypes
- Ran usability testing and iterated on the results
- Designed the UI kit, design system and visual language
Result
- A complete mobile product design, tested with real readers
- A matching model that turns a one-off sale into a repeatable exchange
- A visual language built for community rather than for a marketplace transaction
